An island of thrill and relaxation

A pride of Tanzania and less than 50 kms off the cost of mainland, Zanzibar is an
amazing location for you if you are looking for adventure in Africa. Surrounded by
natural beauty, rich culture and a welcoming attitude towards travelers, this

Activity: Scuba diving & snorkeling
Location: Mnemba Island

 

Located roughly 3kms away from Unguja, which is the largest island of Zanzibar,
Mnemba Island provides an excellent and highly favored scuba diving and
snorkeling spot for the tourists who visit this island.

It is a part of the Mnemba
Marine Park which boasts of four different habitats for underwater fauna. The
island is home to a wide variety of corals and is therefore declared a marine
conservative area. Let us tell you something- weather you are looking for a lake
adventure in Africa or a beach adventure in Africa, the continent’s locations never
disappoint!

The beautiful coral reefs provide for a stunning view for the divers and snorkelers.
The reefs are home to some marine species like the green turtles, humpback
whales, dolphins, whale sharks, over 600 species of coral fishes and several
migratory seabirds.

Activity: Buggy ride
Location: Nungwi

Nungwi is a large fishing village located on the northern end of the island of
Zanzibar. It is situated in Kaskazini, a district belonging to the north region of
Unguja. Until the early 90s, the village’s economy was based primarily on fishing
and dhow building. The dhow is a traditional sailing vessel. With the growing
popularity, the village has seen a sharp rise in the tourist population visiting the
place each year.

Buggy rides have become a very popular activity for tourists. Each buggy trip can
last for 3 hours during which tourists get to ride in off-road buggies, wherein
which they can visit fishing neighborhoods, lush plantation areas, off-road trails
and traditional dhow making centers.

Another stop on this ride can be at the Mnarani Marine Turtle Conservation Pond,
which is a conservation site for turtles. There is a lagoon in this conservation area
which formed by old reef rocks which is home to several green turtles. This buggy
ride is often referred to as Zanzibuggy, and should be on your list of best African
photo tours because of the unadulterated scenic views it provides.

Activity: Water Sports
Location: Mnemba Atoll, Tumbatu Island, Stone Island of
Bawe

In recent years, Zanzibar has seen a gradual rise in various water sports in and
around its islands. The beautiful coastline and rich coral reefs offer a wide range
of water sports for the tourists to enjoy. Starting from snorkeling, diving around
and near the colorful coral reefs to dhow rides along the coasts.

Various water sports clubs have come up over the years which provide various
activities.

Jet ski rides, knee boarding, water skiing, parasailing, kiteboarding,
wakeboarding, fishing, scuba diving, banana boat rides, ringos are all the water
sports activities that one can take on.

such activities, like Mnemba Atoll, Tumbatu Island, and Stone Island of Bawe.

Locations: Ngorongoro conservation area, Mahale national
park, Serengeti national park

Zanzibar is an archipelago which is set in the Indian Ocean and is made up of
larger islands known as Pemba and Unguja. It is a home to several wild fauna and
flora which are breathtakingly beautiful. Tourists can opt for short and luxurious
safaris that have become a popular adventure activity for those visiting the place.
There is no dearth of places one can go to, while in Zanzibar.

Africa. The Ngorongoro crater is densely populated by the crater lions,
hippopotamus, zebras, gazelles, crocodiles and oribis. The Mahale National Park is
located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. It is the territory of the tribes
Watongwe and Waholoholo and can be accessed only via a boat. The park houses
several species of primates including the Angolan and Western Red colobus.
